Regional Government Department for Culture, Social Communication and Tourism of Asturias The elaboration of a registry of files and documentary funds has become a fundamental objective of the programs sponsored by the regional government of Asturias during the past few years with relation to protection and publication of the Documentary Heritage. The vast flow of data from different campaigns made the use of an efficient tool to design a web application essential. It was to become a key instrument for information and reference purposes regarding the Documentary Heritage of Asturias. Treelogic was selected to carry out this project.
Documentary Heritage Management
Objectives
- Providing a working and controlling instrument for Public Administration and professionals in charge of the archives.
- Orienting investigators, as well as the general public, about the informative capability of the documentary funds created and collected by the different institutions and entities, both of private and public nature, engaged in activities in Asturias.
Strategies
- Organising the flow of data with an appropriately dimensioned tool.
- Normalising the descriptive structure and defining the information contents for system automatization.
- Elaborating a dynamic search module according to the regulation ISAD(G), capable of fulfilling the necessities of the different users. It is possible to access descriptive references through different parameters, and to search either a single city file or several ones simultaneously.
- Facilitating a dynamic descriptive function, which allows loading the required data through the Internet from any place in the world and forwarding the updated and corrected data to users immediately.

Outcomes
The dissemination of the Registry of Documentary Heritage and funds was achieved. All inventories already available or to be elaborated in the future will be accessible trough the Internet. It is already possible to make queries online to seven of them, among which the Noreña and Colunga ones were directly elaborated on the web application. The remaining ones will be added progressively.
